What Kind Of World Is This?

Like the Matrix, a critical choice awaits you, will you take the red or the blue pill? Albert Einstein highlighted "The most important decision we make is whether we believe we live in a friendly or hostile universe." While we may not have asked ourselves this exact question in those exact words, we have asked, and our actions have revealed our answer. This quote underscores our perception and outlook on life. Life’s trials can put a beating on us and alter our perception.

Statistics show that approximately 90% of stories in major U.S. media outlets carry a negative tone, with 54% of non-U.S. stories following suit. This is why I personally steer clear of excessive news consumption; the constant negativity seems designed to breed fear. As Sweet Brown famously said, "ain't nobody got time for that." Plus, our brains inherently incline toward negativity. This is a survival mechanism wired to detect potential dangers. It's a miracle to me that with everything happening worldwide, some manage to maintain a consistently positive outlook.

I firmly believe that our view of the world, whether we see it as supportive or antagonistic, is a conscious choice significantly influencing our life experiences. I choose to see the world as benevolent, where all things are working for my good and in my favor and that in every experience I WIN, or I LEARN a valuable lesson.

This doesn't imply that you walk around wearing rose-colored glasses. Rather, it's about acknowledging our shadows and dark negative thoughts that do not work for our highest good and learning to manage them effectively. This is the necessary work that needs attention. Are you prepared to undertake this work?

As the New Year begins, recognize that it will not mark the end of conflicts, crimes, violence, or any unfortunate events in the world. However, it remains within your power to adopt the belief that you live in a benevolent world. It is always in your best interest to make an effort to uphold positive thoughts because they influence your emotions, your words, your actions, and your reactions. And, by doing so you will begin to shape better life experiences despite the ongoing challenges that persist.

The best way to predict the future is to create it by taking control of those thoughts. What I do know for sure is while we can't control the thoughts that come to mind, we most certainly can control the thoughts we choose to focus on. Are your focused thoughts creating a better future for you or are you stuck in a cycle of worst-case scenarios? This year

let’s change the world by simply choosing to believe we live in a friendly world and allow that thought to permeate every area of your life.
